New Work: Some visual branding for the new @ThresholdAstrology. This is the second time I’ve worked with the lovely Diana. We had a great time bringing her vision to life, and who knew when we really got down to it, a fiery onion would be at the root of it all. * * * * * In Diana's words: Onions are a bit of a wonder. Somehow contained within the same object is the power to bring us to tears and to make us salivate. Both biological responses, not within our conscious control. What magic that humans ever even decided to eat them at all. They hide. First growing deep in the earth below the soil and then through the many layers that protect the tender heart within. They even fight back when attacked, releasing their powerful scent – quite literally obscuring the vision of their opponent! But once they are put through the fire, they reveal their hidden gifts. Each of us is many-layered. As we grow, we (consciously and unconsciously) learn to protect our hearts, our inner selves. But we are inevitably put through the fire of our life experiences – some more challenging than others. Every layer and part of our being holds purpose. Got some quick business cards printed by @moo - I’m in love with their cotton business cards that they collaborated on with @mohawkpaper — made out of 100% recycled T-shirt offcuts. Looking forward to spreading these around.

I had a huge to-do list moving into 2020 of all the fun (and not-so-fun tasks) I wanted to tackle, and was super excited to start crossing shit off the list. The universe had other plans, and I have been sick for the last two months. It feels pretty defeating at times, to not be able to move forward at the pace you want, but in week 8, I’ve decided there’s nothing I can do but roll with it (Yes it took me 8 weeks – I’m not great at being idle or accepting defeat ;) - One of the items on the list was to make some personal letterpress holiday cards. It would have been the first project completed on one of my presses. In addition to the print run, I had a few last things to finalize in order to officially set up the press to run, but the timing just didn’t work out. I wanted so badly to make this work, but with the sickness, holiday travel and the other busyness life brings, it didn’t happen. - Normally I would dwell on the failure of not completing a task, but I’m trying to adjust my thinking with these kind of roadblocks, and look back on what I got out of the process, even if it didn’t pan out as expected. And for the project you see above, I was able to gain a little more experience with setting type. :) - I have a lot of big things I want to accomplish in 2020, and a lot of it is new to me, and I know minor and major setbacks are bound to happen. So, that’s why my mantra for 2020 is ‘keep moving forward’, and that’s what I intend to do, no matter the pace. - Anyone else off to a slow start in the New Year? Shout out below! I've missed making stuff with my hands more than I realized. After work, and after I get the kids to bed, it's late, and I don't have the brain power for a lot of things. I have wanted to make my girls some keepsake ornaments and found the best patterns through @mmmcrafts Etsy shop. . These have been so fun to make. Great instructions and the only 'big thinking' I have to do is deciding where I want to add more gold sequence. 😁

Organizing some spacing using some great advice from @gingerlypress. Will be helpful to have each point size in its own container. . Should speed up the sorting process when redistributing all of the full galley trays I acquired. Will also come in handy when setting type.
